Leadership Begins With Obedience”

By Dr. Gabriella Larfaque

Leadership isn’t just about platforms and microphones. True leadership begins with something far more personal: obedience to God.

Before David ever became king, he was a shepherd. Before Esther stood before a king, she submitted to wise counsel. Before Jesus stepped into public ministry, He spent time in the wilderness—led by the Spirit.

We often want the crown without the cross, the influence without the intimacy, the results without the refining. But in the Kingdom, the most powerful leaders are those who lead from a place of surrender.

You Don’t Have to Be Loud to Lead

Some of the strongest leaders I’ve met—on and off The Noble Show—weren’t the most visible. They weren’t the ones with the biggest following. They were the ones with the deepest yes to God.

  • The woman raising three children and still making time to disciple others.

  • The young man leading worship in obscurity with faithfulness and fire.

  • The pastor who pours into five people with the same passion as if it were five thousand.

Leadership isn’t first about position. It’s about posture. The posture of a heart that says, “Here I am, Lord. Use me.”

3 Marks of a Noble Leader

  1. Obedient Over ImpressiveGod is not looking for those who impress—He’s looking for those who obey. Even if it costs you. Especially when no one sees.

  2. Servant First, Leader SecondJesus washed feet before He ever preached a sermon. If you can’t serve in silence, you’re not ready to lead in the spotlight.

  3. Rooted in God’s Voice, Not People’s ApplauseInfluence that comes from people fades. Influence rooted in God lasts generations. Listen for His “well done.”

Leadership Looks Different in the Kingdom

In the world, leaders climb ladders. In the Kingdom, leaders kneel.

God is raising a generation of leaders who will walk in authority—but with humility. Who won’t compromise their calling for applause. Who understand that greatness is not in being known, but in making Christ known.

📖 Reflect:Where is God asking you to lead right now?Maybe it’s your home, your circle of friends, your job, or your church.Ask God: What does obedience look like for me today?
